Frequently Asked Questions
Program Overview & Philosophy
Q: What is the main philosophy of your training program?
A: Our program prioritizes long-term athletic development, focusing on the & Teaching
over Trophies model. We aim to build elite fundamentals, basketball IQ, and self-
confidence rather than simply striving to win youth tournaments.
Q: What age groups and skill levels do you cater to?
A: We train both male and female athletes ranging from ages 6 to 18. Whether your
child is a complete beginner learning basic footwork or an elite high school player
preparing for the collegiate level, we have a specialized tier for them.
Training & Development
Q: What specific skills will my child learn in this program?
A: Our curriculum breaks down basketball into seven core fundamentals: dribbling,
shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, foot movement, and jumping. Depending on the
specific package, players will work on form shooting, ball-handling, agility, and in-game
decision-making.
Q: How are players evaluated and placed into groups?
A: At the beginning of each season or training block, our lead coaches conduct player
evaluations to assess overall ability, skill level, and basketball IQ. This ensures every
player is grouped with peers of a similar skill level for optimal growth.
Q: Do you offer strength and conditioning alongside skills training?
A: Yes. We understand that lower-body and upper-body strength are crucial for
basketball performance. Our comprehensive program combines basketball-specific
drills with sport-specific strength, mobility, and plyometric training to prevent injury.
Logistics & Commitments
Q: How long are the training sessions, and how often should my child attend?
A: Sessions are typically 60 minutes, depending on the age group and program tier. For
consistent progression, we recommend attending a minimum of 2 to 3 sessions per
week.
Q: Where are the training sessions located?
A: All of our indoor sessions are held at a local training facility located in Goshen, NY.
You can view the Facility Location Guide for exact address, and directions.
Q: What should players bring to each session?
A: Players should come dressed in athletic apparel and basketball shoes. They must
also bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Parent & Player Expectations
Q: How can parents best support their child's development?
A: The most useful thing parents can do is provide the time, space, and transportation,
then allow the athlete to own their goals. Instead of asking "did you make your shots?",
try asking "what were you working on today?"
Q: What is your policy on missed sessions or cancellations?
A: We require 3 days notice for any cancellations or changes to your training package.
Missed sessions must be made up within the current 30 day cycle and cannot be rolled
over to the next month.
